Tech/Lecturer crossovers

When working as a technician (and not as a lecturer, as I do both) I have noticed a different, more casual behaviour in the students, yet, they do recognise me in both roles as they will come to me for technical AND academic tutorials.

In the lectures, I can go over things that I have picked up from the technical tutorials, and in the tutorials I know what has been taught. This provides me with a big advantage as I can see the gaps in learning that someone who was just a lecturer could not pick up on.

This has also helped many other courses, as my communication with the academic team means I can advise on things they can do to cover missed parts, and ways I have gone about them.

This can only be good for the academy at large.
